    How hot is too hot

I have a 4 bolt 350 very mild...no mods. I'm running it with a ford flat head radiator. I have a 195 thermo with an eletric fan and an auto switch which turns on at 185......my temp gets up to 210-212 before I shut it down. I'm still working on my truck so I have not had it on the street or in traffic so this has been in my yard at idle for a duration of 15 to 20 min at a time..

if you have a 195 thermo. in your car and the fan is running and the motor runs at 210 then you can take the thermo. out and it want make no dif. so putting a colder thermo. in want change the temp. its all ready hotter than what you have in it. if it stablize at 210 its ok. if its keeps going up you gonna need more fan or rad. a colder thermo. dont make the car run cooler unless the motor temp. can go below the thermo. opening temp.
