Thanks for all the help, I found that bolt and I'm gonna give it a try, it is in a really tight spot. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Alright I adjusted the timing, both retarding it and advancing it about 10 times and testing it, and the idle is fine when the car is in gear, but it still is high when the car is in park. Any other ideas what this could be? It's weird because if the idle is high when the car is in park sometimes if you just rev the engine up the idle will then go down to where it should be. It's almost like something is sticking, but i've checked and rechecked all the throttle cables and other parts of the carb and nothing is to tight. Not sure what to check for next.....

Alright maybe i'm being to broad here about the problem....I did hear a hissing noise coming from the engine when I turned off the car the other day. Could my high rpm's be a vacumm leak problem? Any other ideas on what to check. I adjusted the timing and for some reason the problem is there one day and gone the next????

    Question

I took the car in for a diagnostic check and it came back that I have a bad carb thermostat. Has anyone dealt with these before and if so how difficult is it to replace? I think I might just rebuild the whole carb...
