i was just wondering if there was anyway or kit to do this i have a 267 and was goin to c just how many ponies i can get out of it i had a guy tell me the most it would ever make is 200 and i am bound to prove him wrong any help on this would be appreciated thanx
Get yourself a 350, drop 'er in....and tell your buddy it's a 267....They look the same from the outside.
A 267 is not worth throwing money at. Some say a 305 isn't either........................
I too have a 267 (4.4L)in my 81 Camaro. Runs ok, a previous owner added dual exhaust and a 4 barrel. I cant decide whether to build this engine as a decent fuel economy/ok performance car or rebuild the 283 in my garage. I may save the 283 and see if I can find a Chevy deuce. You should easily get 200hp, but maybe he was thinking 200 net which in that case wouldnt be too bad. Anyway look up a guy named Monte 262 he has built up the small 262/267 chevys.
I agree with poncho that it's not worth putting any money into, but it is an interesting idea to play with.
What if you bored it 0.030" to 3.530", bolted 305 heads and intake on it, 500 cfm carb, zero decked it with an 0.039" gasket, used 1 1/2" headers and a cam like this

With a 0.030" overbore, 60cc heads, 0.039" gasket and stock-type flat-tops zero decked, the c.r. would be 9.22:1 and I'll bet you'd be way over 200 hp. Actually, I don't have a clue, it just seems that this would be a nice little mini-mouse.
