Engine Problems
For some reason my 350 isnt running the same. I have a edelbrock quadrajet carb, edelbrock intake, and headers. I was always burning rich, so for some reason i decided to adjust my idle mixture screws just a little bit. It didnt help so i put them back to where they used to be and now my car runs horrible. Idles like i have a million degrees of valve overlap, very lumpy, but its not bad when in neutral or park, just under load it gets bad. then i give it some gas and it trys to die out on me, so i give it a little more gas and it decides to not die. It trys to take off but it wont, very hard to accelerate, wont go past 2800 rpm. no power. when im accelerating it sounds wierd, like when you are driving down the highway with your sunroof open, then u push down that flap and the air kind of echoes and it hurts the ears. thats how my engine sounds from inside the car. I thought it was flooding for a while, then i realized it is probably leaning out to much, because a chevy 350 can take a lot of gas and still run decent. It might be my secondaries not functioning, i doubt my float is stuck, maybe? i havnt touched the timing at all, so no reason for that to not be proper. I dont know what to do. Im not a carburetor guru, so i dont want to rebuild mine. What could it be????
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
