i have always been a believer of use what you got. i havent seen much info on a 307 bulild but i know from experience when i was in high school. a buddie of mine built up a 307 headers cam intake bumped up the compression and was running it in a chev shortbox truck with a 3 spd standard of all things.
this thing was the deal and was amazingly strong. i would guess with a updated set of heads a 307 would perform pretty darn good in a nova.
