What is your stall rpm,3200 or 3500 would be a good choice, maybe a hydraulic roller with around 296 dur. and 530 lift, or solid flat tap, rollers are more money but it is worth it ,faster lobe ramps-valve stays open longer, less friction(more hp),faster revs, ether way-use good rocker locks!! I have built at least 20 small chevys with hydraulic flat tapped cams(comp extreame energy my favorit) and thought they where great, but my first roller motor made me see and feel what i had been missing!!Give the cam companies a call and they can help you get the most out of your motor!
".......So sanded it all down and resprayed. ......" Been there. done that on a couple of paint jobs over the years. Usually took me a couple of days to get over being mad before I started...
