    sb 283 casting numbers

I am looking at buying a 1958-1962 283 casting numbers 3756519 can anyone help me with the factory specs on this motor or point me in the right direction for info on it.
It is a complete long block with a 350 trans attached but that is about all i know about it, the guy wants 350.00 for it.
I am going to use it for a late model camaro project.

    Thanks
    Dave

    Thanks Marco,
According to that site it could be anything from 170 hp to 315.

If it was a 315 it would have come in a 61 corvette .It would have had pop up pistons 11 to 1 compression. If the block has flat top pistons the most horsepower it would have had would be 230. I thought I had this info at home and I can't find it. This is from memory but I feel sure this is correct. If it has flat top pistons it would not have had the best heads.Im not sure any 283s had big valves. Most were 1.72/1.50s
