Every time someone has a new baby, I tell 'em "Congratulations, you now have an enemy for life". My son hasn't spoken to me in 8 years.

I sure do hate that. We do at least speak. Probably four or so times a month. His problem is, even at 28, he cannot tell the truth, and about the simplest of things. So our conversations consist of "hay hope you are well, love you, bye". Of course there's a bit more, but that's the gist of it. I don't ask about his lifestyle, because I know I will get a lie.

Onto more cheery things. I installed the camshaft and timing set. Much to my surprise, the cam bearings were in straight and true and the camshaft turns easily. At least I did one thing right. lol I have the Comp billet race timing set. They cost over a hundred bucks, but to me, timing is THAT important, even on a stock engine. They have the crank gear with nine keyways, so I will be using the degree wheel shortly.

I don't know enough about engines to say much about that, but I understand you on this part. I got one that's 18 and it has only gotten worse over the years. Like you said, you learn not to ask questions.
