I have a standard deck 427. Currently 4.280" at the bore with the 3.766" stroke. I plan to bore +.030 over and drop in 4.000'' stroke. Leading to my question, is this going to be a plug and play for me? or do the 427 blocks need to have machining done for the added stroke. Any feed back is appreciated.

 Thanks.

is the block a real 427 and what year block. back in the 80s we use to build 427s out of the 454 as the 366.396.402.427 cranks were easy to find then use a 454 block with a old 427 block they were not cut out like a 454 for the 4.000 crank so you will want to check the rods your going with that they will not hit the block as the 427 and 454 share the 4.250 bore you will have a 454 030 outIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip
