is the block a real 427 and what year block. back in the 80s we use to build 427s out of the 454 as the 366.396.402.427 cranks were easy to find then use a 454 block with a old 427 block they were not cut out like a 454 for the 4.000 crank so you will want to check the rods your going with that they will not hit the block as the 427 and 454 share the 4.250 bore you will have a 454 030 out
