    well i can tell you the stock bbc has been used in many builds and not just buy me i can get all the dart stuff and used alot of it .but i like building the stock stuff with a 4.250 or 4.375 just for fun . when you get past $5000. in head casting and just valves . get past 4500 just for a bare alum block some of the fun wears off i machined built many hi 500s to 632 bbc just more money the 589 is really nothing new you can put a 4.500 crank in a stock 9.800 GM block if you want to as for street rods i sold my 548 14to8 748 solid roller street engine to a guy with a 2500. street rod i put it in for him car was more then one hand full
