Ok I'm new here and have learned from this site, now I have a question, I have a mark IV 454 bored .30 with flat top pistons and 781 heads that are ported and polished heads (dont know specs i bought it like this) with roller rockers a weiand intake dual plane and I'm getting a q-jet carb for this, its going in a K5 blazer to play in the sand and I was wondering if a comp cams xe268 would be a good choice for my application, I have a 700R4 tranny and stock convertor, thanks in advance. and if anyone uses this cam I would like to hear how they perform

This cam will give you a mild choppiness to the idle and will work well for off road...you should make about 500 HP and 500 FtLbs This cam will give you a mild choppiness to the idle and will work well for off road...you should make about 500 HP and 500 FtLbs

A slightly higher stall convertor would be a plus, but not essential.Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like

No, you're fine. It's just that I'm gazing into my crystal ball and I see you with a fragged flat tappet cam. It's a crapshoot using anything but a roller these days. Here is a pretty good list of what can go wrong....
