Running Hot
Hello all-
I have a big block 502 with a 8-71 blower. New becool radiator, shroud, dual electric fans, thermostat, no thermostat, timing, still runs hot, any ideas?

what is your lower radiator hose like? sometimes they will collapse and you not even notice it. also check the flow through your radiator.BARB

How hot? Street car, or strip? If street I would run thermostat, it will give the radiator a chance to disapate heat. Strip, maybe just a restrictor washer in place of thermostat. On circle track cars I have found a restrictor or thermostat will keep engine cooler. Still have to fight to keep from getting too hot. And is it overheating, (ie boiling over), or just running at a hotter temp than you would like to see. Horsepower makes heat. More details would help these guys help you to diagnose the problem or find a solution.

under drive pulleys? how many amps does fans pull??

and 98 degrees temp may have something to do with it .. does it run hot in the early morning milder temps .. i dont drive my stang in the heat .. it runs hotiv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?
