i just did two 496 engines and used crane golds with stock covers and 5/16 thick gaskets they fit but the only ones that may fit better would be the crower steel rollers or comps. i did a 396 with a stick and the same cam but on a 112 cl and i do have one fresh regrind crane with them numbers and a new 4/7 swap cam with both on steel cores. i would run the hyd roller on the street before the solid roller less your drag racing it or going very hi on rpms past 6500. i do go solid on some builds were a guy will not spend the money on hyd rollers lifters or bigger cams .but if your using red lines you just throwed the price of lifters out the window
fine lifters but you can buy a hyd roller kit for the red line price and never hear as much lifter lash sound and not having to set them if you do not like this.that why i like to build the hyd rollers for street and mild use and have been moving away from solids lifters. save the solid roller stuff for the balls out stuff
