where do i get a posi?

so where is the best place to get a posi rear end that will fit in my 77 monte? i want 3.73 gears and was wondering where is the best place to get the whole unit to drop into the pumpkin. i have an 8.5 10 bolt. i've looked up some but don't understand the whole 28 spline ect. crap. Is there a unit that comes with the gears in it or do i have to buy them seperate? thanks.

There is no 'drop in pumpkin' on yours and 373 posi for yours would be kinda rare

Yep, not as easy on yours as if you had an 8 or 9 inch Ford. Those have drop out pumpkins, on yours you have to go in through the access cover on the back and install and shim the gears. Check Richmond Gear, I think they make a limited slip setup that can be installed on yours. The Camaro I am looking to buy has a 10 bolt and a Richmond Gear decal on the side, so I suspect they have what you need.

    Hi Leonard,
I sell the 10-bolt posi unit you're looking for along with the bearings, ring gear bolts & more.
NOTE: The ring gear bolts are left hand thread on your 10-bolt differential.

I know a few guys with v8 s10's and 3:73 gears, they went with a powertrax unit. I've seen them in summit but that's just one option
