049 heads
I picked up a set of 049 heads, is there a left or right side or will they go on either side of the block? and is the spark plugs angle different from one side to the other?

well with most v8 that run one head casting your valves are not going to be in the same order when that head is used on the other side of the engine. not just BBC s. lets go by firing order by the bank number one side is ex and intake .used that head to the number two side will be intake ex order as well as the pistons have valve cuts to work in the order of valves as well . see if you look at the heads hear they are setting with valve running the same order ? the heads could never fit you EX would be coming out your intake manifoldLast edited by pat mccarthy; 11-15-2009 at 08:23 PM.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
