    Does your cover/block have dowel pins?

    My big block has the pins. With the cover on the pins, the seal is centered around the crank snout. One of my friends had an engine that the crank was to high in the block for the seal to seal on the bottom. He ended up drilling out the dowel holes and letting the seal center the cover.
