some of the crome china built stock type covers do not fit so hot.did you check your top and bottom gear are they leve/ square if not you will have to fix this. if off no thrust button will stop this with a tin cover will just move .you did not say if you have a thrust shim under the top grear. you could add another timming gasket but then your button will not work with out some work .
