    What exactly do I have?

     



    I have a motor, the numbers I can find on it are as follows,

    (on the back of engine)
    3963512
    CONV 1

    K5 9

    and on the back of it behind the flywheel it says

    pass

    hi perf

    I was told it was a 427 from a 69 corvette.... who knows what it really is???

    3963512....454.......70-76...2 or 4 bolt

    3963512 was used in the 427 in 1969 in both 2 and 4 bolt configurations. It was also used from 1970-1976 for 454 (as referenced above) in 2 and 4 bolt.

    So - you may have the straight skinny, i.e., 1969 Corvette.

    Post the numbers on the pad in front of the passenger side head.

    Something like T0215XX

    May have a three character suffix but a '69 Corvette will start with L or M and be two characters.
