I do not like the Clevitte H bearings. Every engine I tore down with H bearings is flaked out....I like the Clevitte V bearing or Kings... ACL bearing is going out of Business.

they not top on my list i have seen them move and will start to flake as well as other s if you run them loose they hold up better there to hard when you load them very hard you need more room .the V bearing is the old vanderell with lead indium that move better then the hard H clevite the kings hold up good to the old vanderells were junk before they went under . crower sold them put there name on them they did not hold up well, i had a set come part in a engine from just sitting i am sure there better now clevitte makes them now but it hard to beat kings

Also, they have a TRI-Armer Bearings now...

Clevite H-Series racing bearings technical updates:
    1. H to HN designation:
    a. Changed designation from H to an HN designation on the
    rod bearings.
    b. Removed large chamfer and narrowed the bearing by the
    corresponding amount.
Note: The bearing area, crush, and relief for large radii
    remain the same.
    2. Ford and Chevy bearings:
    a. MAHLE Clevite now offers .009", .011", .019”, .021"
undersizes in connection with the traditional .010" and
.020" under offering. This allows engine builders to dial in
    clearances with reground crankshafts.
    b. MAHLE Clevite continues to offer X bearings which offers
more clearance than standard bearings. These bearings
are useful for coated bearings and aftermarket crankshafts
on the large size of standard.
    3. Coated engine bearings process and appearance:
    a. Coating color is now black instead of blue.
    b. There is now a stronger bond between the bearing and the
    coating.
yep they started doing that last summer. i was happy to see this now all my older NOS bearings that i split up or down for size are no good .i still use there rods bearing . but not the mains like the 3/4 groove. at that time i started moving more to kings H bearing .i did see mahle / clevite now on the box . i still do not care much for the coated bearings for what we are doing seams like the coating can very to much. i like to know the size before it get coated then they would be ok a 1400+hp bbc on much Nos with less then 002 on the mains ? with coated mains ?NO Thanks.. if i knew it was just coating ok. but i did not know were the bearing stop and the coating started. i have had very good luck with the size i set my mains and rods at. so no need to play with fire at this time
