    oil filter bypass

     



    i understand how it works but is it a bennefit to run no bypass or bypass will you gain oil pressure whats the deal. whats tha biggest oil filter you can use without a bypass

    A filter bypass is just that, it allows oil to bypass the filter when the flow through the filter is causing a slight pressure drop. That ensures an adequate flow of oil on cold starts and even high RPM operation. I wouldn't even consider running a so-called full-flow filter without one, you'd be asking for oil starvation in some situations.
