cam
Just came accoss another issue while I had the oil pan down. I can see some of the cam lubes have some "scorching" on them and the cam only has about 600 miles on it. It is a Comp roller cam. Any thoughts?

do you mean track marks on the lobes ?. is it a solid roller or hyd roller cam if solid that common and if the lash is off + low speed use and long with other things like junk oil bad valve springs bad lifters to much valve springs can added to it and you will see track marks hippo lifters may help some at low speed wear you may not see much oil splash and will keep the lifter bearings happy and help keep the lifter main pins from getting eaten up at low speedLast edited by pat mccarthy; 01-01-2009 at 06:52 AM.

Thanks Pat. Yes, track marks on the lobes. It is a Comp roller cam withy new push rods and valve springs. Not sure with hippo lifters are. We had some messaging a couple of weeks ago with the low oil pressure problem. Just put a new oil pump in and should be ready to run it tomorrow. I still maybe looking for that 454 short block?

blue smoke from bb
I took my old hot rod out a few days ago, really got on it pretty
hard, but only a short distance. Pipe on passenger side is blowing
a little blue smoke when i accelerate...Never saw that before, and
just was wondering what the possibilities were....NO smoke on drivers
side....thanks rd
