Is there any fourmulas to find out what wrist pin hieght u need in a custom engine. I think this is a dumb question cause i should already know but hey dont hurt to askjoe bogger

yes you need to know your deck of your block like 9.800 or 10.200 or 10.500 11.500 there is many but the most used are 9.800 or10.200 tall deck but you can get one that is deck some .just do not guess at it know you need to know how long your rods are and 1/2 the stroke of the crank add the 1/2 of the crank stroke crank and rod now subtract from the deck of your engine this will give you the CH of the pistons .you want to subtract from you ch if you running alum rods or if you do not want to be at. O deck your block first and know were your at like 9.800 or 9.870 or ???? you want your block tru deck before you order pistonLast edited by pat mccarthy; 12-03-2008 at 05:42 PM.

so let me see if i've got this right for example a 6 inch rod a 3.6 stroke would make a even 2 for the wrist pinjoe bogger

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
