I bought a 427 Truck motor for like 50.00 once. I took it to a guy I know who owns a machine shop and he made a stroker motor out of it actually. The difference, if I remember correctly was it used a different crank as well as car rods. It has been about 12 years ago so I am a little fuzzy on the details. I know the crank was the expensive piece to the whole thing. I do remember it came out to 513 c.i. and was a beast! I put it in a 66 chevelle with a powerglide and 456 gears. It ran in the high 5's at the 1/8 mile track on street tire (60's). That is one of those I'd like to have back...*sigh*
