    396 bore over

Can A 396 big block be bored over to 427-454 bore size? the bore on a 396 is 4.094 and 427-454 bore is 4.250, is the cylinder wall thick enough?

If you have any question about wall thickness have the block sonic tested.

In street or prolonged use I doubt it would last. Buttttt I did get away with it in a circle track alky motor several years ago,had no other choice at the time and it lasted a season and half before it got a hairline crack in one cylinder.
