slight engine shaking
while in idle my fresh 454 will jerk every few seconds, what would cause this

Yep, it's probably spark related. Wires, plugs, something like that.

jerky engine
Possibly power steering pump,belt tightness,sticky lifter,ac pump,incomplete burn,smell it,methanol fuel,oil your distributor fly weights 30 wt oil 2 drips and on center of shaft(may be dry)spark plug wire(even new they can be defective)check last chance fuel filter for fuel degration)loose wire on key switch,motor mount?vapor lock?

If the wires are touching the exhaust manifold or headers, it may be melting the insulation causing the wire to arc out!I ain't dumb, I just ain't been showed a whole lot!
