What kind of BB could this be?

Up where i go hunt a couple of hours away from my house, there is an old k6600 chevy school bus, the license plate sais it was registerd in 73 so i know it either a 73 or older, any idea what that could be? 427? 366? the starter is on the drivers side and instaed of an alternator there is a generator.. What could it be? It is a big block but the carb on it is tiny, i dunno if this helps. Thanks.

    AHHH, the old hunt.
Yes,it could be the 366 or 427 tall deck.
If you could get a casting number then we would know for sure.

Are you certain it was a V-8? It could have been a 401 V-6,or perhaps a 348-409 V8,a generator kind of gives it away as pre-63. Hope this helps,Hank

Boy, Halftanked, You're giving your age away there. Remember the size of those pistons in the old 401 V-6? Huge buckets they were.

positive it was a v8. Whatever it is do you think its worth pulling out, i mean this thing is in the woods, vines everywhere, tires flat, it would be a pain.

More than likely a 366T but as allready said the casting number will tell for sure.
