Now there are a few of us that say "don't put the small port heads on".
I stop looking at "stock oval port heads" in the 454/6,000 rpm area un-less we do a lot of port work to them.
We have used 781's with 2.19/1.88 valves and A LOT of port work on a 496/6,000 rpm hyd. roller cam engine with good results, this I.M.O. is really pushing the limits of a "stocker oval port head".
