You should have some frame ties and maybe even a 6 point roll bar to tie the car together. What rear end do you have in the car? If you get the chassis stiffened up and a tire that will hook the rear end becomes the weakest link....

I believe Hooker makes headers for the swap, did one a number of years back and I believe that is where we got them. I'm not a chevy guy, but aren't the big block and small block mounts the same? If I'm wrong, I'm sure the chevy guys will let both of us know... I think I also had to do some modifying on the firewall to get the HEI cap to clear, or maybe I moved the motor back a bit to move some weight rearward. It was a lot of projects and a few years ago so excuse my CRS......

Both Moser and Currie make a bolt in 9" rear end for your Camaro. As long as you leave it a one wheel wonder I doubt it will hook up enough to break the 10 bolt. I've seen them 8.5's take a lot of abuse even with a posi in them....

i installed a BBC 454 In my 76 Camaro with no problems,
if ur looking for somethin good headers get the Hedman Headers (#65001 ) for painted or (#66105) for ceramic coated and if ur looking for body mounts buy a Polyurethane from Prothane (#7-139) and if u wanna see and feel a big different in handling and looking buy a Hotchkis TVS Systems (#80016 ) its a suspension pakage and its great!!

I don't have any stock stuff in the original spot on mine anymore, but the valve cover might be a little close to the brake booster. I think a mini booster may clear. But don't take my word for it cuz' it's been a long time since I've seen a stock 1.

Either a bigger radiator or no inner fender wells, I ran a 455 olds in a 78' camaro with the stock 305 radiator that way, of course money was a factor.

Make Sure Your Primary Pipes Are Larger Than Your Exhaust Port Diameter, And That The Header Flange Doesent Protrude Into The Port Pathway.you Can Clearence Any Protrusion W/an Diegrinder & A Little Finesse, Try To Get At Least A 3" Exhaust System And You Will See A Huge Improvement In Power.
