Sleepers are fun.
I built my then-wifes '68 Mustang coupe into a mid 11 second car with a Gapp and Roush 351 Cleveland, top loader, and 4:88's. Kept the dog dish hub caps and whitewall tires.
Pulled off an interstate ramp on day and picked up a hitchhiker (back when that was safe
) As we got onto the four lane there was a Chevelle and some other car lined up in front of us, ready to drag race. They took off, and I got behind the Chevelle in the fast lane. I'm pushing him all the way, and when he got past the other guy he moved over into the slow lane, and I blew past him like he wasn't moving.
I looked over, and the hitchhiker was scared to death, and all he could say was "what the h*** is in this thing."
He got out right after that.
