Welcome! Why would anyone laugh at this combo?? I think it sounds pretty good for a newbie BBC guy... When you say stock pistons, are they flat tops, or a small dish in the center?? If so, I doubt that your c/r will be over 10/1, even with the small chamber heads. It's really hard to hit 10/1 on a big block with flat tops. You might be there, I cant say for sure of course, but I doubt it..have you cc'd the heads to see where they are? They are supposed to be 98cc, but you have had larger valves installed, and that frequently makes them larger in size. Did they tell you what your deck hgt is in thousanths?? I like those closed chamber heads. Carb and intake sound good. Cam is pretty radical, but streetable, that's about where I am with mine, but I have more cubes (505), so yours will be nastier for sure. What's the LSA?? Lift sounds high for that duration. Have you checked piston/valve clearance? Headers will be good. I would get rid of the Pete Jackson, but that's just me....mine went after a few months, they were cool for a very short time!
I think it should run pretty good, overall. What's the primary purpose? Street? What kind of car is it going in, and what tranny and gears will you use? John
