BBC lifters?
I just picked up a GEN VI block. I know the come with roller lifters stock and can see the bolt holes for the retainer tray. Can I use SBC lifters in a BBC? I have several high dollar sets of lifters from LT1/LS1 motors that I'm not using.

Big block and small block roller lifters are different.

the roller stock gm should work in the big block . will the newer lsi may not check the oiling hole in the lifter if the same spot then it may work and the body size to hold the bow tie is the same they very well could just maybe more or less oil to the top endLast edited by pat mccarthy; 09-14-2007 at 07:41 PM.

may be too late for a post on this. the only diff on the sbc verses bbc is that the bridge that keeps the lifters straight is 90* off. I already tried this on a gen VI and the sbc roller would sit sideways on the cam
