Question Long travel hyd. roller lifters?

I have decided to go with a hydraulic roller cam. My 1970 454 LS6 is a Mark IV so my question is will I need to run retro fit long travel hyd roller lifters having a roller cam with 626 lift? What manufacturer makes the best valve springs for roller cams? I know Pat will know this answer and most likely others of you can help this newbee old guy out too. Thanks

Would be best to go with a cam, lifters, and springs as a package spec'd for the older style engine. BBC's have been running roller cams for years, call one of the manufacturer's tech lines and talk with an expert. I use Comp Cams for most of my stuff, but more just personal preference then anything.....

you will have to go with retro -fit hyd lifters . i have used the feds many times but they were no more than 612 lift. the tall bodys are for mark 6 block and the dart blocks have taller lifter bore housing on the block and the stock gm roller lifters will not take that much lift with the stock gm stuff so they need a tall body lifter .on the lifters comps or you could use any of them howards -crane -crower -morel .you will have to run retro -fit push rods. if not stock heads then custom size pushrods.on valve springs the big races stuff .PSI springs or isky manley. for your cam the howards look at #9832 140@1.940 or 140#98611 is spring sets up at 1.880 135lbs one thing if you run rollers rocker and aftermarket heads then you will need custom length push rods
