I may have ask you guys this already but to be sure I'll ask anyway. Will a standard distributor work in my tall deck truck motor. I know the cam is not raised so it must work right. I am making sure beacause I looking to buy one soon and I seen they had tall deck and standard. Thanks.

Gee Joe, what brand of a motor do you have?

IF it happened to be a tall deck Chevy late model big block, the deck height
moves the heads upward and outward. The intake manifold (where the distributor mounts) also must move up and get wider.... MSD makes a tall
deck distributor BUT some intakes are cut lower for a standard distributor....
you gotta know which intake. My suggestion is to call the intake manufacturer and ask their tech line. Better than buying the wrong dist.

The engine is a 197? tall deck 427 Mr.Goodwrench and I know the heads and such move up but I thought those distributors like the msd were for the aftermarket blocks?
