    468 bbc question/help.

Hi, Im new to the board, name is Ricky Phillips I live in Ks. I've looked through here and seen that a person can get some pretty good info. from other members so here I am giving it a try.

I'm building my first bbc it is a 468 it has eagle rotating assy. and lunati 48cc dome pistons. I have a set of 188 bbc heads rect. port open chamber heads with 2.19-1.88 valves 118cc I believe.
Compression ratio is in the 13.1 range I do not have an intake yet but i do have an 850 double pumper and a set of hooker supercomp headers. I am looking at a couple solid lift cams. around 630 lift and 270-275 dur. I have a 3500 stall a glide with trannybrake and 4.10 gears. my car is 3000lbs. and is mini tubbed with a ladder bar set up. my questions are as follows.

    1. am i doing anything severly wrong.
    2. any cam recommendations
    3. any guestimation on H.P. level
    4. is carb to small

Thanks in advance, oh. I am also running a nos cheater system.

the team G intake singleplane or the edelbrock victor intake the carb will work i have had a lot and built them for customers of the same type of engine you are building. 461 to 509 with the same heads. and i used the team G s and used the 9377 holley on the cam i would use direct lube lifters they are a must on big blocks here are some cams i have used that work good howards122321 lift.629/.639 260/268 at .050 lsa 108 and 122331 .639/.645 268/278 on 108 lsa and crower compu-pro .619/.627 258/264 on 107lsa this one works good and the lift is a bit smaller to make more hp. a roller would be good and the cam that work the best in my 468 was a CC cam 2969r8 cam or .720/.710 .282/288 on 110 this cam may like more gear and more stall and carb the roller engine with the rigth work 650 hp and the soild 570 ?? or more hard to say

hey ricky, I'm working on a 468 also. It's also my first big buildup. Could you keep an update as to anything you run into problems, tips, etc.? Your motor looks like its really gonna tear up the road! I dream of the day I can drop mine into my truck!
