I just put a 496 together with a truck pan. The dipstick caused an interference and the bottom portion of the outer tube need to be cut off. The windage tray also caused a problem with the dipstick and it needed to be modified.
this as a stander thing when you use a moroso windage trays and some others type trays . and not on the stroke. the gm windage tray stand off stud will not work on or 4 3/8 or 4 1/2 with out work on the trays and any thing that is race type oil pan and windage trays all need work i used the moroso tray first thing is i cut the tray for the dip stick
