    454 running bad

For those few that were following the other thread. The engine is still not running good. compression check is good. Could EGR cause this to that extreme.

i dont know what was said before, but the EGR valve most of the time causes a vac. leak idling. going down the road the EGR shouldnt make a lot of dif. spray it with carb. cleaner see if the motor idle up.

The engine seems to be running good at idle. When you give it gas the vacuum drops and it runs like crap. I know it't supposed to drom some but it drops to zero. Still can't find a leak. Before it got to point that it ran bad all time above idle. I could be driving down road and it would loose vaccuum start running bad then recover and run good, or it might get to point that it would die.
I am still as confused as ever.

i think you'er looking at the vac. gauge to much. if you have 15 + inch idling thats ok. a vac. gauge after that dont tell you much unless you have a lot of experience reading it. it jumps all over the place when ging down the road. what is your vac. reading at 800 rpm's and what is the car doing.

ps, what are we working on.????
