I know where a rough 2 door is but no 4 doors. I'll keep an eye out.
4dr Fleetline is fairly rare. Wish I never sold mine, but '50 Plymouth makes an ok replacement
4dr cars just aren't popular. many of then were stripped for parts and crushed during the steel rush . i have found a couple but they are rough and one is missing complete front and all of the dash . i have plenty of time to find one. the 55 chevy big window is next .
thanks ray . i have plenty of time to find one. i have a big window chevy truck to build first.
found a couple but could not deal. no way i will trade the international plus 1k for a pasture car . i honestly feel the value of a 4dr pulled from the pasture is 1000-1500 . 2dr or hardtop i can see bringing more . will just have to try and move the 2 old trucks and use the money for a car.
well i found one for the right price but it is a parts car. serious rust problems . not sure i want to get into full floors , rocker and such. lot of good parts. dog house is straight. but for the price i couldn't pass it up .
Don't you just hate GOOD DEALS. I know I wind up putting in more than I'd ever get back
most every one i have seen has the same rust. the floor brace design was not the best. this one is just a little too far gone. the dog house is all good. gauge panel is good, has a radio . most likely tear it down then decide.
I know a guy that has a 48 Fleetline but it is pretty rough and is missing glass etc. If you'd like I can get you some pics. He only wanted $400 last I knew.
48 is a different body style. i may build this one unless i can find another hull.
well i'm cornering the market on fleetlines. going back for a sedan that has 0 rust issues for parts. will use floors and such. also one more fleetline to go look at . got plenty of trim now. good dog house , pristine grille , nice gauge cluster , good straight bumpers. have 800 invested in these 2 , one came with title . if the other one is rust free i will pick it up . going to be a fun build but likely be interrupted by the move. dividing the place and selling half now and the rest as soon as i get things ready .thanks for all the leads .
by the way i found a mopar honey hole when i went after the last one. 38 acres of woods and cars.
Very nice but what a tease on this honey hole! Pics or it's fake.
acres of stuff. mostly late 40's to mid 60's . darts evey where . lot of 60's mopars
Awesome! Any early Hemi's???
I am looking for 1964 Mercury air conditioning dash vents.
Only made for that year. See any big Mercury's there?
i will check friday . i only saw a third of the place .
This dash with the vents that open in the ribbed area are on 1964 big Mercury only.
I am after the air conditioning vents which are a part of the chrome above it only.
Watch for the pointy side trim on the big Mercurys, it can be in fastback or the one with the rear window that lets down. Thanks Shine!Attachment 71101Attachment 71102
not a mercury on the place except a 46-48 and it was pretty roached .
no problem . hopefully i have enough parts now. i have one more to look at . next i have to put my frame jig together and decide on running gear .
thanks . little high and too far away to go get. i have 3 now and a sedan parts car. going to look at one more.
well the donor body is finally off the frame . now have to get it on the rotisserie so i can remove the floors and rockers .
well i'm done . found the last one . finally have 2 titles and enough parts to build 2 4 dr's .
Those are a great find!
well the first one is pretty roached. but has a good instrument cluster , seat frames , grille ,front fenders and most important a title . second car is pretty good . great dog house and trim . this last one is in better shape than the others and has a title .
so far i have 1600 in 3 4dr's and a 4dr sedan parts car and 2 titles. titles are worth 400 here .
it amazes me how people will price pasture art at 3-4k .
Does the Olds windshield fit those models? Possibility for you?
Takes a fair amount of work to even get to this point.
Think of it as all downhill from here.
Enjoy! We will be watching and cheering for you.
likely will not start on this until after we move . these 2 cars will in all probability retire me out of the car business . with rat rods and now telsa transplants i just really dont care much for it any more. i'll still build my gasser and play but not at all interested in where things seem to be headed .
a lot are but i'm seeing a trend that just does not interest me. guess i'm just getting old. i'm ready to hang up my guns after 45 years of it . these 2 will take me a good while to build . after them i may just play with my own stuff .
these cars will be luxury pro touring cars. my falcon will be a loud obnoxious gasser from my youth . just a fun car . i saw this one and if not for the green roof ( i hate green ) i would swear it was my old car . no cage or hole in the hood but it sure looks familiar to me.
10 hrs and 500 miles later the last one is on the farm . pretty nice car with very little rust . scored a nice set of fender skirts with this one .
never underestimate a red neck .
yep. lost the plug i guess. there are cars closer but i wont pay 2-3k for a pasture car . one of them was 400 for a title and parts. one was 500 with title and far less rust. the last one was 700 with title and min rust ' the 4dr sedan parts car i traded a trans for. so 1800 and i have 2 cars with titles and plenty of parts . hopefully my godson will show some interest in these builds and begin to learn some stuff .
soon i'll start my search for a c4 rearend and c5 front , ls/auto . i kept the frame from the sedan so i can build it and leave the others as rollers in case we move sooner .
