37 Plymouth coupe seat

I am thinking about new seat or seats for my 37 Plymouth coupe and wondered what any of you have found that fit the late 30's coupes. I believe all brands will be about the same size.

My stock seat is about 46 inches wide at the widest point of the base and about 48 inches wide along the top of the back. It is just not real comfortable on any drive of any real length. The springs have broken down over the years.

Third row seats out of vans or small pickup seats seem to be a popular option. You might have to do what I did, go to the yard with a tape measure and find something that works. Mine is the rear seat out of an Astro van, it's not that great on a long trip either. Don't throw the option of getting your seat rebuilt out the window, it would save you a lot of bracket making time.

I agree with 53Chevy5 I think I would check on having the original rebuilt before getting a different seat. Fit would be the concern there. A good shop can make what you have like new or better

I agree 100%. You're going to be much, much happier in the long run if you have the seat you've got rebuilt, adding some lumbar support (even adjustable isn't that hard) and better bolsters for support. Find a good upholstery shop.
