making custom waterproof car cover? of what?

What's the best fabric or other stuff to use to do this?. Custom fitted Cover for 1923 T roadster.
Needs to be waterproof so if it rains at outdoor show,can cover it and keep inside dry,but pack/fold up and hide behind seat? Only plan on covering cowl/windshiald and cockpit,not motor.???

Unless you are a wiz at sewing, your best bet is to look at a company like California Car Cover or one of the other car cover companies out there. I don't know where you could buy the materials they use for water repellant and dust.
Other than that, you may just want to have a big sheet of plastic that you could throw over the car for rain.

I can sew OK,that's not a prob,but just asking about best waterproof stuff. I'll do a tech on making a cover when I get all my facts lined up.

Could get a tent and cut to size, tonneau cover, look around a boat yard.

There are several on-line fabric supply places that have material for breathable auto covers, marine/convertible tops, etc. Here's one that seems to have a bunch of alternatives. SeaMark™ Waterproof Fabric, Awning Rail, Boating and Marine, Aqua Gun - Solution Dyed Polyester, Aqua King - Vinyl Coated Polyester from Rochford Supply - Your Online Textile and Upholstery Superstore! You might visit your local interior supply company and see what they have, too? For your use, emergency cover for shows, etc when you get caught in an unexpected shower you're not so concerned with breathing & chafing from wind/movement over time.

Thanks, great ideas, wind canbe a factor in a fast storm here in Miami fla. so I'll need to pad the inside and corners some. Looking at these site filled me in on sew in seam tape to help seal seam.

Well it took to long cuz other stuff had to be done!, I needed full waterproof ,T-bucket has no roof and not set up to get wet inside at all. So did end up buying a fullwaterproof carcover from Amazon to fit a Focus[small car] and then cutting it down to fit the t-bucket. Did it this way cuz,by doing that got more matearel and some already has the bungy sewed in nicely. The cost was less this way then just buying off a roll waterproof stuff. The only trick is to put dubblesided tape into the new seams before sewing and that beside holding it together as you sew also makes new seam waterproof. On my son's T-bucket the upper corners of windshiels are 90* so could put a hole into cover,to stop that we added lather pad made from a garden glove ,sewed to inside were cover is on the windshield corners . The bungy was used around the bottom,plus added a valcor strap across under for high wind. Making your side panels remember you have left ans a right=both are same shape but one will be inside out as a pattren,also you need to besure the bottom is the sewed in bungy side. Try to get it fitting in a way that in will not get a puddle of water collecting anywere.
All of it folds up and is stored behind seat. The cuts you make will be by the shape of your rod,but was able to do it for outlay of only $65 and had a lot of left over,so made a snapover motor cover from some of that,again using the already sewed in bungy that is handy,=trick is before you make anycut of bungy edge,sew across it,so bungy dose not fly up inside lip. Remember that two sew lines on a seam is a good thing in this case.
