Carpet Tips?
Anyone experienced with carpeting (other than OEM replacement kits) willing to share some tips? One problem area in mine is the tranny hump, but I also have a bundle of wires from the back bulkhead to the console for window switches and seat heat switches, so I'm thinking of gluing down the sides, leaving about a 3" gap in the middle, and covering that with a 6" strip of carpet between the seats up to the console back side. Wondering about binding edges and forming the curve for the hump. I've seen some that do the hump separate from the flat floor, with binding along the outline of the hump.

After thinking about it I talked to the interior guy that has been selling me products and giving me tips, and he's going to do the carpet work. There are several bound edges needed for it to look right, and I'm not set up to sew carpeting. Should be done next week or the week after.

Roger, last week while visiting my upholstery friend, I was given a very sweet deal on one of his 'retired' machines. I'm now the proud owner of a Pfaff 545 industrial sewing machine. I need a bigger garage, I'm running out of room! :D

Mike,
That's pretty cool! That's a great machine and should serve you well. I looked at a couple on CraigsList here, and was tempted by an old singer that was one owner, only used for hobby's at $600, but it's not listed any more. May keep my eyes open, but I need to learn about value and pricing before dropping several hundred dollars on a boat anchor
