    what would be a good transmission

     



    What would be a dood trans and rear for my 72 i'm putting the 283 in it.

    TH350 will be fine

    Sometimes it's better to keep ones mouth closed and be thought a smaddas, than to open it and confirm it.

    TH400 or 700R4.

    Both of these are good and you can get all kinds of goodies for em.
    Any dolt with a Torch and Welder can customize a car.

    Real artists use what God bestowed on em.

    To answer the original question, I'd slip a TH350 in there. It'll fit like it belongs there. The 700R4 will give you the extra gear though. Here's a dimension chart if you need it.

    well i can get a rebuilt 400th for $200 if i bought it what would be a rear gear ratio
