Pontiac 400 in a 63 tempest wagon?
Hey All,
OK! Here's the story in my garage I have a rebuilt pontiac 400 that was left by a old renter of my garage. I've been holding on to it for a awhile, just hoping to find a use for it one day.
It turns out I can get a 63 tempest wagon that has been sitting in a barn for about 25 years for free.
I was thinking this could be a little hot wagon if I put the 400 in there. Is it a good idea or should I sell the motor and try something else.
The reason for the wagon is it's my wife's old family car and it's going to be junked in a few weeks. I thought it would be cool to fix it up, since it has sentimental value. At the same time make it a cool little wagon.
Any Ideas? Thanks All

I don't know. I'll have to go to the farm and look at it a little closer. If so that might pose a little problem. I would need a pretty stout tranny to go with that 400.
Bye the way if it helps any the 400 is out of a 66 GTO. Sure wish I had the car to go with the engine.

Come to think of it... Arnie "Farmer" Beswick had a Tempest wagon at one time. I don't know much about the car, but it might be a good reserch subject for what you have in mind. Some day I be shinin' in the Boulavard windows

Looking at the web site it looks like that tranni was used for a drag car. Now if that was true it should be strong enough for a street rod. Right?
That would save me some fabbing I would think.
