Go to a junk yard and get a I belive 1987-1989 ( but I could be wrong ) 2wd just like yours but, with a manual and take everything outa the donor that you need, from the clutch master cylinder to the transmission and clutch. it should swap right out with little to no modifications.
You don't know what you've got til it's gone

OK ...... do what matt said if you REALLY ! love "That" particular truck .

But, !! the best advice I could give you would be to find an 88 chevy pickup ( there a dime a dozen here.....> "no offence " ) w/ everything your wanting .

save a lot of headache !

just my opinion ........ but, had a buddy do this swap on a older one and dame sure wasn't easy, from what I seen .......

check under your dash also for the 3rd pedal bracing, you might have to take the whole assembly from the donor truck as well.. it also depends on how long you transmission is to the 5 spd you find, you might have to get your drive shaft cut, or get a longer one depends? there is alot of things you will need to get the standard into you auto truck.. but like Matt said if you can find a donor truck within the same year that was a manual it should go together.

If it won't go, force it... If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway
