Powerglide (turboglide) ?
I'm confused! I'm hooking up my tranny linkage and I can't figure out what a part does. I have an aluminum Powerglide w/ the turbo shaft. where the shifting linkage is..is a small arm w/ a nob off it's side. What the heck is it's purpose? I'm pretty sure I have the right linkage bracket..but there's no spot for the arm on there.

BIGPAT,
If it's a powerglide and not a turboglide, that is the kick down arm. Needs a spare rod from the accelerator to it to kick down to low for passing, etc. If it's an old turboglide I got no idea as they didn't have a low gear position on the selector, just a grade retard for going down mountain passes.
Hope that helps.Duane S

Does anyone have a picture or any idea what this rod is suppose to look like?Big Body Big Block
on small cars yes. but fat fender cars are pretty much the same in size and weight as the donor car. i found s10 brakes work great on fat fender and pickups. a deuce will just need manual brakes...
