Its in a 89 crown vic.
Clip holding the TV cable broke and who knows how long it was driven like that so probably the trans is toast,going to replace the clip ands see how hit does and then if ok will change fluid.
The TV cable is critical as I'm certain you're aware.. if the fluid looks the slightest off color, it's toast.
And the change of shifts would tell me it's lunching on the clutches.. Drop the pan and see what the bottom holds.
Supposedly it only takes minutes without the TV cable and it'll overheat and fry the clutches.
