Yup, I've used that cooler, good unit!
With the fins toward the floor, think I might want another half inch to an inch clearance from the floor..... Might want to see what a few others think though......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Did a bit more searching and found some with built in thermp-switches....
Should I spend the extra cash to get one or will I be ok just tapping off of the radiator fan circuit? (Centech adjustable)

Ditto on what Dave said - good unit but really needs to be protected with a rock guard. Hot fluid is one thing - loss of fluid is almost always catastrophic and can cause a fire.
Let us see a picture of what you end up with - I'm always amazed at people's creativity in mounting ancillary components!

Think this econo version will be sufficient for my trans?
Derale 13730 Derale Econo-Cool Remote Oil & Transmission Cooler
I'm thinking the space behind the trans on the passenger side between the frame rails will work, but it's pretty tight (roughly 11" x 14")
