Mike - that's all I'm using. I still have the one in the bottom of the Walker radiator that I can add to the system if I ever see 200++ degree tranny temp on a regular basisDave W

Pugsy - Two series would work well - maybe a single pass feeding into a double or two doubles with the plumbing connections facing each other to cut down on the amount of tube runs.
A question to Don Jr - have you had any problems with that starter solenoid exposed like that. One of my winter projects is to clean up the trunk and that's one of my considerations along with maybe moving the battery underneath if I can find enough clear space.
Mike - add a $15-$20 temp sender matching your gauges from Egauges to your trans oil pan and a SPDT switch and you can use your water temp gauge to monitor the ATF temperature with a flick of the finger.Dave W

Dave, thanks for the tip!
Pugsy, if you have the need to use 2 coolers, this cooler from Bob Drake might fill the need and be easier to plumb.

In case Don doesn't see this I'll answer. No, he hasn't had any issues with it mounted there. I have the one on my 27 in the same place and it has been on there for over 20 years. In fact, when I freshened up the car last year I reused the same solenoid I put on it originally, it was still in good shape. From what I could see rain water never seemed to splash up in that area as there was dry dust on everything right there.

Thanks Dave, that's great to hear, I feel much better knowing you and Don have used these successfully as standalone coolers.

Must say not a fan of the fined alum tube, most of them seem to live out of any air flow, yes the fins dissipate some heat however they will lack in function without airflow. The poster says he has no room on the front side, so here is another mount option he might consider, this locates the cooler behind the radiator and plumbs into the radiators cooler. Is that your face or did your pants fall down?

I'm odd man out.The plate style coolers are more likely to clog than the tube style and that is a proven fact on all of our tow vehicles traveling over 20yrs as a vendor to sell at swap meets.Good Bye

Hey, Sorry I missed this.
I would think the traditional cooler is more efficient than these cylinder types. I do not have a temp gauge on my trans on the t but would like to install one to see how this cooler is doing.
No problems at all with my starter solenoid mounted on the frame as pops said. Sorry I missed that question. Don Jr.Don Jr.
