Hard shift from my Richmond 6 speed tranny

I have a Richmond 6 speed tranny in my 87 C-4 Corvette which is hard to shift from 1st to 2nd. Could someone tell me why or if they have had the same problem and what can I do to fix the problem.

Do you have the Long shifter on it, or something else? Set one up for a guy a year or so back with a Long shifter, very slick shifting with no hangups anywhere! Worked as good as an H pattern shifter will ever work....
