I am building a 302W with 351W heads. I know that I want a manual transmission on it. I am not sure what would be the best to look for. I would love any suggestions so I could start keeping my eyes open and pricing everything.

Planning on building a hot rod. Something to tool around town in.
For a cruizer, the TKO 5 speeds are tough to beat!!! Lots of good low end gearing, but then a nice, long winded 5th gear overdrive that'll get ya down the highway at a good speed in a reasonable rpm...helps with the fuel mileage too. I'd check out Mike Forte's stuff, He's got a web site, I usually just email him when I need something or have questions....

The TKO 600 is good for over 500hp, and they shift very smooth. Mine is the 0.64 OD ratio, and there is also a 6-speed model that has a 0.50 final gear. The new Hemi Challengers run that one to get their mileage numbers up.Quote:
